Chants
The very best and most precious chants are the ones you will create together. I was taught to chant by learning to rhyme. I was taught rhyming when I was learning to talk, as a game. I find that children absolutely love to rhyme, and recognize the power inherent in repetitive sounds.
Pick a sound, any sound. Then put consonants in front of it. Put another word in front of two or three rhyming sounds. My Goddess, we have a chant!
Cow, Now
Brown Cow
Milk Now
Bee, Me, See, Tea
I see a little bee
Making honey for me
To eat with toast or drink with tea
