Again, I start with extra virgin olive oil, although mineral water, beer, brandy, or any other medium will do if it means richness to you. To this I will add moneywort, mint, pennyroyal, a Channuka gelt coin, a little honey and some orange rind. Dress and treat the candle the same way as previously described. For symbols, I would draw a "¢" at the top and a "$" at the bottom.
Another good tool is a poppin. This small doll-like creation can represent a person or other being. I use a poppin to nurture myself. I like to use a sock.
For this particular exercise, I stuffed the sock with laundry lint, because that contains elements of my entire household. I used brown buttons for eyes, and white yarn for hair. I made her nice and plump, like me. I then created a safe place for the poppin. I lined a shoebox with scraps of silk, velvet and other soft, luxurious fabrics. I put her in there and there she stays, safe and comfortable. I can go there and be her anytime things get to be too much for me in the mundane world.
