I find it very helpful to meditate before doing magick. This causes the brain to move from “beta” waves to “alpha” waves, the intuitive brain activity. This is where you want to be to tap into the dance of the strings.
First, find your “Third Eye”. Start right between your eyes. Then, pressing firmly, draw a finger slowly up along the center of your forehead. If your third eye is sensitive, you will feel a slight indentation and tenderness, even soreness. Everyone’s “third eye” is located in a slightly different spot. Mine is 1/3 of the way between brows and widow's peak.
This exercise actually will help ease headaches because it causes the release of endorphins. Place your thumb over one nostril and your little finger over the other.
Place your three center fingers on your forehead. Two outer fingers go at the peak of each brow, and the middle finger goes over the third eye. The third eye is the spot at the suborbital ridge.
Get comfortable. Rest your elbow on your knee. Close your eyes. Now, close the left nostril and inhale through the right one. Close both and hold. Open right nostril and exhale. Close both and hold. Repeat starting with right nostril this time. Each one of these actions should take an equal length of time starting at 5 seconds and working up to ten. Continue this activity for three complete revolutions of breath. Open your eyes. Put your fingers on the ground and ground yourself.
